In Shakespeare’s Henry IV, there is a scene in which the king, burdened by worries, cannot sleep. He meditates on the weight of the crown. Why does unjust sleep bring soothing forgetfulness to commoners, while the king lies awake at night, growing weak? Setting aside the historical and political context, it could serve as a fitting metaphor for anyone who wears a crown woven of hardships and feels lonely and uprooted from their community. I believe Zuzka Jiránková understands this image deeply. She has the gift of empathetic listening, gently pulling people out of the vicious cycle of their thoughts — and when necessary, she knows how to say firmly: “Go to bed already, you’re getting up in the morning!” Good managerial — or even life — decisions cannot grow from isolation. That, too, is Silene.
